There is a lot of ornamentation on many of NY's older buildings, but you don't often see such nautically-inspired decoration. Some related buildings that come to mind are Grand Central Terminal, with stylized rats over the Lexington Avenue entrance, seemingly trying to enter the building as they would a ship,  the Chrysler Building with its automotive-themed decoration, and the Helmsley Building, formerly the New York Central building, featuring winged train wheels. Maybe I'll shoot those when I get a chance!

Still catching up on latent 3D images from my Sony CyberShot. This venerable old place is in the west 40's in NYC, near the Harvard Club and the Algonquin Hotel. The windows resemble the decoration on an old ship. Cha-cha, Photoshop CS2/6.0.
