A HDR image is a combination of at least 3 normal (LDR) picures.
This combination of pictures is presently done using a graphic editor
(like f.e.photoshop)
After the battle for more pixels many hope that the next battle in
digital cameras will be about dynamic range (which is very poor at
the moment) and that HDRs will become available strait from the
camera.
