These stores are all over New York City. If you go shopping at one, watch out for the hard sell! If you're looking for camera equipment, I recommend B&H on the west side. If you can't get it there, you probably can't get it (except maybe for eBay). I also recommend the Sony store on Madison and 55th. It's like a toy store for adults! Sony CyberShot, cha-cha, Photoshop, color removed to avoid rivalry.
