It depends upon whether or not you can get a good mortgage
rate toward the purchase :-)
I think you should feel free to ask questions of the
sellers. For instance, does the rig provide
true sync, and if so, how? IMO, if sync soley relies on
the processing speed of the cameras,
and your ability to use two fingers to trip the shutters,
you can get along very well for much
less money. ask also about a warranty, or period for
return of the item if deemed unsatisfactory.
Remember that if the internal workings have been altered
that may void the Sony warranties.
You should also read up on reviews of the Sony
cameras. You want to know what kind of quality they produce,
and all the features provided. If no reviews are as yet
available go to the Sony web site and get a rundown
of the cameras' alleged capabilities and
specs.
Check on the interocular distance so as to make sure you
can take shots that don't overdo the stereo base.
Also ask for references. Don't be the first user, because
you'll not only benefit from the rig's capabilities, but
you'll also suffer from its flaws.
Finally, ask yourself this final question: Can I
really afford this? ( We already know that you really WANT
it!)

Subject: [Anaglyphs] What do you all
think of this Rig?
Rather expensive,
but I am considering it. Would it be worth the
money?
