I finally found a way to do the tumbling cards.
1) I photographed stereo pairs of each card,
2) placed one of each pair in the L & R chips of the assembly in the same position,
3) while crossing my eyes I shifted one card till it looked like it was forward of the previous card.
Takes a lot of patience though.
