(423K)About two weeks after my release from the hospital I felt it was time to get
active! For many years I had photographed the New York International Auto
Show,
and this year would be no exception. To maximize rest my wife and I boarded
a bus from Monticello, New York, rateher than drive, but once we arrived in
the city we trekked in
the frigid wind to the Javits Center. Marge carried my near-empty camera
bag and also took notes as we walked the miles of corridors at the site.
Whenever I attend I always spend the majority of time among the concept
cars, which are mock-ups of autos that may be on sale in the future. But to
me the big story was the huge crowds
that attended on this, the sixth of the seven-day affair. While the masses
added to the excitement, they also made shooting extremely difficult, always
getting in the way, just
before that crucial shot, while robbing me of good angles and vantage
points. But still, I managed to grab a fair amount of shots, and can now
offer up some of the highlights
of this year's show. Enjoy!
