Now, as a Californian, I have seen a lot of earthquake faults but never
one like this one located in the Mammoth Lakes Area. Most of them just
look like a drop in ground level or horizontally shifted ground, but
this one is unique because there was no vertical or horizontal
displacement. The features look like they could close up again any
minute and they would match perfectly. By the way, that is snow at the
bottom of the crevass - in July.
