That is correct, Shahrokh. The color-channel mixing formula was devised to preserve the most approximate color detail possible with a weighted-average method. Also, because the principle element of the AnaMasque method involves color-targetted contrast masks, the ghosts can be effectively neutralized without having to unnecessarily distort the colors - no histogram adjustment to the Green channel, for example.
The steps to the method can be somewhat time-consuming when executed manually, but you can create actions/scripts in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro to automate a good deal of the process, at which point it becomes a very quick and useful means of rendering rather impressive, ghost-reduced color anaglyphs.
