Digital photo processing requires the use of a
computer and image editor, like Photoshop.
With a little experince one can make improvements
and alterations in a very short amount of time, and this posting took five
minutes. But if one is short of the cash needed to buy
the full PS program, there are several very good
image editors availabe for less than $100. IMO using such a tool is a
necessity for those who indulge in digital
stereo photography.
I'm therefore running a little contest. Send
me via email offline up to three of your anaglyph creations, any size, by
December 21 and I'll judge as to which I think is the overall best.
I'm judging on four aspects: originality,
technical expertise, general interest, and an enclosed written commentary
that is comprised of up to 100 words explaining any useful or interesting
details. Provide your mailing
address, which will be kept confidential. Each
aspect can receive from zero to five points, the highest being the
best. In the event of a numerical tie, the winner will be chosen
from
among those scores.
Additional rules or restrictions: No entry
will have been previously posted online. Written commentaries must be
original, although for research purposes other sources may be
utilized.
Restricted only to members of the Anaglyphs
Group.
The winner will receive a new copy of
Photoshop Elements 6.0. The winning entry will be
announced and posted here sometime in January 2009, along with my commentary
as
to how I reached my conclusions. The entry will be
reduced if needed to conform to the size limitations imposed through the
Group.
There is no entry fee and no appeal of my posted
decision, although later comments posted to the Anaglyphs Group are
welcome. The software prize will be shipped via U.S. Postal Service to any
requested location.
By entering this contest you are agreeing to the
terms and conditions of this contest, and will not hold me responsible for any
actions taken considered to be unfavorable.
Good luck,
Marshall
