I did figure that out and got some nice small lights. I saved it but then I couldn't find it. If I do, I'll show you. What is interesting about the program is that the color settings seem to not be for color but rather for what color is removed. I appreciate the help Brian.

You can get tiny dots and make them more symmetrical, (once you've tested the depth and width then undo the test). Set the brush for "round" and then hold your mouse still and click about 15 to 20 times in the same place until the spot is erased, showing the white underneath. You can link the 3D draw with the depth adjustment in the menu (E = further away, R = closer to you) so that when you click E or R, the spot will get smaller "E" or larger "R" accordingly. In my version to you, I did not do the "clicking technique". I moved the mouse instead which is faster but made the light spots less symmetrical.
Note: If you don't click the mouse more than once, you can "Undo" a single mistake. If you need to go back to the original image altogether you can click on "Revert", or you can hit escape and open the image again (longer method).
John, I used SPM on this version to create a GIF animation of the lights on the tree blinking on and off. I resized the image smaller to make a smaller size file because of the larger Lossless GIF format.

Use that technique explained above Bill. It took me quite a while of experimenting with the menu options to get the link of the 3D draw and depth adjustments (E & R) to work together correctly for me. You'll just have to do the same thing until you find the correct settings. I experimented on your image which is completely flat by the way. The only depth is the fact that the image is behind the stereo window. I went ahead and put lights on it for you but I didn't try to be exact since there was no 3D depth in the trees or bushes. Maybe you can take another pair with a better stereo base and try the technique explained above for yourself.

I've had a little program for a while that I haven't used much. It's a drawing program which has an option to draw in 3D and also allows you to change the depth, color, brushes, etc. With a little experimentation I was able to adapt it to simulate white lights on your tree. (I used the erase option instead of color). Before sending you my results I did a search on the web to see if there was a newer version and there was. The program is called Vexer 46. P.S. I tried to put 3d lights on the tree with PhotoShop, I picked the color from the lighthouse lens and dotted the tree with pencil. I tried to match each side before assembling the ana. I almost had something worth keeping .....but it just didn't quite line up. If someone would be willing to give me some tips, I would appreciate it. |
