Great, Mainer. You did it exactly right. Not poor at all. Actually quite nice.

That is how I have always done it (except I do it all in PS). The only problem is the small WV you let slip in at the rope. I think the point you want to keep in mind is there are two objects you are working with; the boat picture within the floating frame can be adjusted to move forward and backward within the floating frame; and the floating frame is an object as well, that we move forward or backward relative to the real stereo window plain (the gray mat).

So, to summarize, do it in this order; first set the image in a frame so that no WV's are present (left image on one layer and right image on another. Then, move either frame and its contents together left and right to set the float and cure/reduce ghosting.

This is excellent and I like it entirely.

I admit I am not a very technical person. I wanted to try a floating window on a pair that I could never adjust to satisfactorily reduce ghosts in the anaglyph. I was a little confused dealing with sizes in Shahrokh's method...so I tried this:

In brought both images into SPM and used auto adjust to align the anaglyph. I saved each image (l & r). I opened each in PhotoShop. increased the canvas size and colored it a fairly light color. I made the sides much wider than the bottom and top, since the adjustment would be horizontial. I saved each image with the wider (and taller) canvas. I opened them in SPM again and adjusted to get rid of the ghost (it was bad beside the front part of the sail in the sky). It seemed to adjust the frame...but to me something about the floating window just doesn't look right. I would very much appreciate some suggestions.

Thanks
Mainer
