Ok, so Dariush is correct, as usual, I see a "pop-up" as a window violation done correctly, or an art form hopefully mastered.  That is my concept confusion and has been since I joined the group, that is why I keep asking.  Sometimes I see a pop-up with no eye strain when the rest are saying it is a WV so I am trying to see it as a they see it so I can avoid the problem.  Maybe I will  just drop it and figure if the eyes & brain aren't disturbed then it is OK.

I do like the idea of blurring the frame or the floating frame it help undefine where the window is.  If I have time before school resumes I will use them for the rest of my holiday series.  Time is so unkind - it passes to quickly!!

Still confused, but less so,
Betty

P.S.
Marshall we wish you well!

Dear Ender,
thank you so much for your very kind and interesting reply. It's so nice to hearing from you again!
Maybe the main point to be explained to Betty remains the difference between the pop-up ( through-the- window) effect, and the window violation who is something totaly different! Honestly I remain surprised to hearing that somebody is enthusiastic of the window violation "effect" in a 3D image!! It's not as breaking the rules Dear Ender but I repeat that it's simply commeting a technical mistake! I am not a fan of absolut perfection and my discussions with Imre shows that but some fundamental rules should be respected and I think avoiding the window violation, ( not through-the- window effect ) is one of them.Naturally we yet are and remain free to creat our images as we wish and in a way we believe but ready to be judged by others who follow our works.
Ciao,
Dariush

Dear Dariush ,

Nice to talk you again in this forum, you are also one of my teachers
on "antighosting " , I'll never forget these helps !

Concerning window violation (I'll rather call this pop-out) you
absolutely have right to considere it as "mistake" on this technical
forum. Also playing rock music and even some kind of jazz is always
considered bad and mistake in the music conservatories , they never
even allow the student playing this kind. Also all classical artist
as Leonardo,Vinci. .etc never broke the rules of classical painting,
but Picasso, Dali (Gauidi in architecture) ..they did it..not by
mistake , just they were maybe bored by the strict rules etc..but
still being master of the classical painting (on early stages of
their carrier). So its not a "mistake" to go beyond the rules if you
know and master them, but this is not allowed for the beginners. The
mistake is not a mistake as long as you can master it and then after
have right to go beyond. Now when playing guitar you can choose
between classical, electrical clean sound and distorted sound. This
last sound was discovered by "mistake" using a small amplifier used
at maximum volume, very ear disturbing sound, long time rejected by
almost all the musicians, but on nowedays this one is much popular
than the other styles and even introduced in symphony orch.
This forum is rather classical conservatory and I fully have respect
on and am gratefull for all the instructions and I recommend every
beginners to learn, apply and master them, later choose their
ways. But still is a place to experiment and share .

As I sad before my goal in 3D is not to make a archive of perfect
pics but to reach street people, to talk their language before
talking mine. I was also one of them before getting in 3D world and
liked always pop outs , ignoring WV , but now I know what is it and
can use and master it according to my goal...so its no more mistake,
just choice..like a distorted sound in guitar (but false note is
still mistake!). So we can discuss here how to allow popouts by
reducing WV effect and ghosting : 2 major ennemies (how about that?)

Dear Dariush I found very usefull this kind of discussions in the
forum, we should nt always praise each other , critics have much
more improving effect, all are welcome and nourrishing .

I just wanted to share my experiments in the street (!) about what
happening outside this forum..
HAPPY NEW 3D YEARS again to all

cheers
Ender

like or not,  we should forget about many aspects of the cultural
and Artistic progress of the man's kind! "People" usually are lazy,
bad informed and sometimes not informed at all of any new
possibilities and innovative ways to change this world to make it
more sofisticated, fine and noble. Many Artistic and scientific
discoveries wouldn't be happen,if the real Scientists and Artists
(not Merchants of course..) were standing still, watching
the "people"s wishes, desires and tastes! Leonardo Da Vinci,
Galilleo, Einstein, Renoir, Picasso, Modigliani, Ansel Adams Madame

the "people"'s territory... made this world and our life much more
complete and sofisticated, so I am not really so interested

them and sell them something!

simply a technical MISTAKE! Playing wrongly a guitare is not a
personal chose but a wrong act, so a MISTAKE as a Window Violation!
Exactly the same mistake. Can you stand a bad guitar player?

the window violation - as I am sure Marshall, Shahrokh and Brain,
plus hubby, Steve, will agree that I don't see that effect as a
violation but a bonus.  There are times it does not work but other
times it adds so much to the viewing pleasure.
