Thank you John,
To make the clone tool appear, select the "side-by-side" option in SPM
(Cross-view). When you're ready, hold down the Shift key and move the
mouse. If you don't see the tool appear on the screen, go to the
options for the clone tool and make the setting for the size of the tool
larger. Repeat procedure. To actually use the brush once you have it
on your screen, hold down the left mouse key and move the mouse over the feature
to be cloned. The tool always clones from the left image to the right
image. Once the clone brush appears, you may release the shift key but
releasing the mouse button also releases the clone brush. I recently
posted a Step-by-Step procedure (see the first link below) for using the clone
feature to convert images from 2D-3D. It also explains how to make the
clone brush appear. If you need more help with the clone feature, try
looking it up in the Menu "Help" under and then Menu, edit, clone tool.
I use Irfanview for several reasons which I've posted in the past.
It's my preferred general and "free" downloadable image editor
which for over a decade has been upgraded with new versions
continually. It even accepts plug-ins used in Photoshop.
If I save from SPM, it doesn't allow some other members editors to view the
RGB image in it's correct color format. I need to save it from another
application. Irfanview is one of many editors that handles this job.
At the same time I may want to make last minute adjustments just before
saving. Ex: I've started trying to give more life to my anaglyphs by
using the "auto adjust colors" option in Irfanview before saving.
Occasionally I may want to manually adjust colors, brightness, contrast,
sharpness, etc while I'm there. I have to be somewhat careful that it
doesn't increase ghosting when viewed by other peoples equipment but that's
tough to do since I don't control their hardware. I only know what looks
best on my own monitor with my own glasses.
Some time ago I added an adjustable "Bevel" plug-in to Irfanview which
you may have noticed on most of my anaglyphs for over a year now. I like
the ability to add a thin beveled frame around my images.
Occasionally I use it to create a 3D illusion to a flat frame as well. I
can adjust the width to match what I need as well as the 3D light reflection
effect.
Check out these group files for the documents I created on SPM's clone
tool...
Regards,
Brian

Another large figurine displayed at DJ Liquidators. By
this time I had disabled the flash. Thankfully the plate glass front of
the building provided enough light.
Cha cha, Canon PowerShot A560, SPM, Irfanview.
Cheers,
Brian
