Yes in my case...or, rather, it cost just shy of $600 when I bought
version 6.0 as part of the first Adobe Creative Suite back in the Upper
Neolithic. Unfortunately, it would cost me another $700 to upgrade to
Photoshop CS2, CS3 or CS4, so I plod along with 6.0. However, I am
pretty certain that most of what folks here do could also be done with
Photoshop Elements. Since I don't have Elements, I don't know for
certain what you lose with that option. As long as it lets you work
with channels and layers, it should be fine.
