When my son was about 12 or 13, he had a hooded Norwegian rat named Jerilee. This was one smart rat! Jerilee would run free in the house, sleep under the blankets with my son, and return to her cage on command--but only on my son's command! Since then, I've always thought that rats can be very good pets!
