I noticed the same thing about the trees. They usually grow vertically. I guess your bubble level can't be wrong, but the eyes would say that it is.
By the way, I have often visited the Smoky Mountains located in the state of Tennessee, USA. I remember that some of the towers on their cable car system were intentionally tilted to accommodate the terrain.
