The Catskill Mountains supply most, if not all of the
drinking water for New York City. The Pepacton Reservoir is just
one
of several giant man-made lakes that are
located within a short drive from my home. Two days ago I drove alongside
this body
of water while on my way to Margaretville. There are very
few places along the road where one can park and see the reservoir,
since it's surrounded by trees.
