Collies are beautiful dogs.  We used to have one (suppose to have been my oldest brother's dog although it was my chore to feed and water him).  My brother named the dog after the title of a book called "Gray Dawn".  http://www.math.ttu.edu/~wlewis/books/graydawn.htm
 
Your friends collie looks a little stout even for having a heavy coat.  It may be a mix I'm not familiar with.

Sorry I haven't responded much lately. Spring is a busy time of year. I have viewed all posts and enjoyed them very much.
 
This is a friends collie. Couldn't do much with the color contrast ghosts in the background.
