I expected comments about the shallow DOF and the
fact that I often cite sharpness throughout as of vital importance. There
is one caveat in my favor,
however. When citing the rule I almost always
indicate that sharpness throughout is USUALLY essential. It's up to the
members to decide
for themselves if this view benefits or not from its
softer background.
But I'm glad you've been paying attention.
