I know very little about Lucio Fontana (1899-1968). This terra cotta form was made in 1959-1960 and measures 26.5 inches (67 cm) wide. Called "Concetto Spaziale, Natura," it was estimated at $1.2-1.8 million. Some of the shadows were pinkish, so I spent some time trying to make them visible in both eyes.
