No, you're not missing anything, your proposal was very clear. It's fine is someone specifically asks for a rating. Then whatever they receive is theirs to deal with whether they agree with the rating or not.
My comments were directed more towards offering unsolicited criticism, but more specifically, the WAY in which it is offered. This is an international group, and for many here English is not their native language. Even if it is, the intent can be lost with the written word. I think there is always a risk when feeling that you are being 'rated'.

I thought the system i suggested, where you submit
a few category labels with the image, will cue the audience to give
feedback in the different categories. For those who do NOT want
feedback, don't include categories for ratings? Seems like this
system would please everyone? I must be missing something ......
