Hello Masutrix,
I viewed your Fuji W1 album. You have some very nice scenes
there. The camera appears to capture adequately but your processing needs
improvement in two areas... Setting the image behind the stereo window to remove
Window Violations (WVs), and Retinal Rivalry (R/R) which can be caused when
colors are too close to the Red or Cyan filters in the 3D glasses (primary)...
When lighting conditions in one chip (Left or Right image of the stereo pair)
does not match (balance) the other chip... And when light (or more light) is
reflected at a different angle in one of the two L or R images making up
the stereo pair. This is caused generally by the two different angles
(perspective) of the lenses when capturing the image.
There are different remedies for the different causes. The major
cause is the first mentioned, when colors of the image (particular shades of Red
or Cyan mainly) conflict with the filters in the 3D glasses. Avoiding
taking images with these colors helps but can't always be done.
De-saturating or even changing these colors (hues) during editing is the most
common solution. StereoPhoto Maker (SPM) as well as other applications
offer features such as "half color", "Dubois", and "Black & White"
options that can be used to remedy the situation. For certain cases,
cloning the offending area from one chip to the other is another solution.
SPM now includes a cloning tool or another application such as Photoshop (PS)
can be used.
Congratulations on your fine stereo camera.
Cheers,
Brian
