Jay,
R/R is usually caused by an imbalance of light, color, or intensity.  It can also be caused when an area appears in only one chip (this happened in my "Family Outing" picture).  When an area is cloned, it makes that section identical in each chip, thus eliminating the imbalance of light, color or intensity.  It's important to first color balance the two chips as close as possible before cloning.  The area to be cloned (in this case the man), is usually set for zero deviation to make sure what you clone appears at the same depth in both chips.  The man was quite small, so I temporarily enlarged that area to more easily do the work.  If there was any depth to the man himself, it may have been only 1 pixel.  Sometimes I don't set the area for zero deviation if I want to use the clone tool simply to paint a color from one chip to the other (helpful in some cases) as I did in the "Family Outing" image.  One difference there however, was that I used the paint tool (F12) in IrfanView to do the job rather than the clone tool in SPM.  It's the same principle though.

Thank you for your efforts, Brian. I like your variation.I did think of using a F/W and did make a version using 3DGugle (attached)  but I didn't like it because it seemed to flatten the image. So I decided to stick with the conventional. What I don't understand is your use of the clone tool to remove the R/R. What did you actually clone and how does that remove R/R? My usual method is to change the hue or desaturate or half-colour. As I didn't notice the R/R on the man , I didn't use any technique.

Jay,

Your anaglyph overall is marvelous in my opinion.  The dogs are cute in their activity.

I could see the ghost Imre spoke of but it was hardly noticeable on my monitor.  I could also notice some slight R/R on the man in the upper left caused by light differences between chips (L & R images).  Sometimes however, you need to see what it would look like each way for comparison to see the difference it might make.  My curiosity was peaked, so I made this modified FW version and also cloned the man to reduce the slight R/R.  I sharpened it a notch and added a beveled edge around the border before saving in IrfanView.

The modified FW version I offer here is of course only one of many FW variations you could do in answer to Imre's observation.  I make no claim that it is better... simply a different version for comparison purposes.  I included your original first and the modified version 2nd.

Cheers,
Brian
