Nice capture. I've never heard of bog turtles. Are they called that because of living in muddy waters?

I liked your  pine branch and didn't find the r/r distracting.
I liked  your leaf less because if you hadn't said what it was I wouldn't have recognised it as a leaf. I think it needed a context.

(Lake Waterford Park - Pasadena, MD)
 
On my first trip to Lake Waterford Park this year I saw many turtles resting on logs.  I was surprised how skittish they were, never letting me get close enough for any shots.  I came back in a few days with my zoom lenses with the idea of capturing some by being more careful as I walked the shore.  To my surprise, I found this one that had climbed a steep hill and was waiting there just for me. 
 
Twin Pentax K10 DSLR rig, Zoom lenses, SPM, IrfanView.
