Thank you Brian for al the information.
Looks to me i got some reading to do.
Your explanation is very clear, just prepare the photo's to not have anything so close at the edge that it touches the window. or actually going trough the windows edge.
Trough the window is a good effect if the subject is in the middle of the picture, just like the pointing people.

Next time i will look out to make the shots better than i did.
Once again, thnks.

Hi Masutrix,

A window violation (WV) occurs when an area of your stereo image comes forward through the stereo window but also intersects with the edge of the window.  This is different than a "Through The Window" (TTW) which comes forward through the Stereo Window but does NOT touch the edge of the window.

Think of it in terms of a real window.  If you were inside a room looking out the window and saw kids playing ball but one of the children through the ball and it came through the window into your room... That is possible and your mind can see how this happened with no problem.  Now, imagine that the ball came towards your window but hit the edge of the window... The ball would not come through the window easily because it hit the window frame which would interfere with the ball's path.

Now, if you imagine the same scenario viewing a stereo image... your mind is not confused when the ball comes straight through the window. However, when the ball comes toward the window and at the same time part of the ball penetrates the window while the other part should have been impeded when it hit the edge of the window but instead comes through the edge also, the mind (usually subconsciously) is confused.  The mind may not know at first what is wrong but is disturbed by something it can't explain.

Many people new at viewing stereo images don't realize this problem but when viewing the same image, with and without a WV, the one without the WV views easier and doesn't cause a headache because of the WV.

You may find additional aids, guides, tutorials, examples and general help in our Group "Files" and Group "Links" section Visit Your Group  (Usually accessible at the bottom of each post).  Here are several related links from Shahrokh that may help answer your question.

You may also find this application useful (programmed for the PC) for general 3D stereo topics.  It's geared mainly toward the beginner and focuses on the anaglyph format.  I've also added many tips about digital photography.  It's about 11MB.

Hi Brian,

Can you explain to me what window violation exactly is ? I'm just starting to make 3d pictures and don't know everything about it.
I like to learn more about it, and how to improve my images !

The exposure looks good.  Stabilization with the chair seemed to work adequately.  I think it would view a bit better without the WVs however.
