Dear Imre

In SPM a fuzzy border does not "float" as does the floating window frame. Unlike the floating window frame, fuzzy border is incorporated into the single image, whereas the floating frame is on the left and right image, therefore it can be adjusted forward and back. The fuzzy border helps hide some of the frame ghosting, but in my opinion would be much more useful if it could be adjusted forward and back along with the FW frame. Using vignette in PS on each chip (save the l & r image after adjustments) makes the floating frame and feathering (fuzzuy border) all one and on each chip. So the "fuzzy" border can be adjusted as well.

Dear Mainer!
Nice image and well done!
In SPM the Edit_Add fuzzy Border function is the same, what is offered in PS.

Brian introduced us to some great links to PS tutorials. Playing with the vignette methods, I was convinced that a feathered vignette would make a superior floating window. The ghosting on the frame is much less noticeable.

I only use a FW as a last resort for ghost reduction. But with this method I might be tempted to use it more often.

This is a re-post that was previously done with a SPM floating window. This time I used the vignette method. I am not bothered by frame ghosting...how about you?

Comments are welcome.
