Lunar Eclipse 12-21-10
This was the first time a lunar eclipse has fallen on the winter
solstice (longest night of the year) since 1638.
I didn't expect too much clarity with my measly 300 X Zoom but what came
out I thought wasn't so bad.
I did a clone conversion via SPM to give the moon some depth although I
used two different shots of the moon for the stereo image. One shot would
have been just as good if not better for the conversion.
Unexpectedly, I also witnessed a falling star (meteor) just under and to
the left of the moon. I hadn't seen this event in quite a long
while. It was very quick and for a second I questioned what I had just
seen. Of course I did not have time to capture it even with the wireless
remote in my hand.
Pentax K10D DSLR with 300 X Zoom lens, cheap-ass tripod, wireless remote,
SPM, IrfanView.
Cheers,
Brian
