I used an action download from the internet for the "bulb" and insertion of the stereo image.

The bulb was 2D, so I converted it to 3D using the history brush pixel shift technique in PS.

 

My second attempt using this effect.  This time I chose a stereo image that I could fill the bulb with and not distort the image.

 

I added a little extra bulb highlight free-hand since the 2D to 3D of the bulb still didn't show enough contour of the shape even though the converted depth was there.  The bulb being mostly clear would not tend to show the contours except for the highlights so I added a little more to help it.  I also tried varied filter-spherical distortions from PS but didn't like the distorted effect, especially for the subjects.  I may try a fish-eye approach later but with a different subject.
