In this context 'HD' stands for the 16/9 image proportion,
'Full' stands for the pixelcount: 1920x1080.

No, it is just an ordinary anaglyph.
As you noticed the Full HD attribute has nothing to do with the quality. Given the 600kbyte file limit of the group the Full HDs are in fact much more compressed than the usual formats, lowering their quality :(
The only advantage is that they can fill recent PC and TV screens.
