Another hypered shot which shows the entrance to the Portland Canal in Louisville, KY. The canal leads to the McAlpine Locks which raise or lower river traffic on the Ohio River. You can see a coal barge emerging into the upper pool. A section of the bridge raises to accommodate the passing boats, then lowers to let trains pass from Kentucky to Indiana.
The hazy hills in the far distance actually are in Indiana, on the north side of the river.
