Cocora valley is a wonderful place in Colombia. It's located near the little town of Salento in the Quindio department in the Andean mountains.
It's part of a National Park and is also the sanctuary for the giant wax palm trees.
This tree is the national tree of Colombia and is the tallest palm tree in the world (up to 60 m!).
It's not a tropical beach tree as it grows between 2500-3000 m in altitude (here it's 2600 m).
Last month I've made a very nice day walk in the valley. Going down I've crossed some pastures with horses and cows.
It's quite a curious sight to see all these palm trees in a meadow!
This black cow looks a little menacing but she was just curious!
