I bought the new Sony HX100v superzoom (30X, optical) recently, and have been blown away by its features. It creates panoramic views IN-CAMERA and does all the stitching and processing automatically. You simply pan the camera across the scene at a steady rate. I've taken many 2D shots this way, but it also has a 3D mode. The camera generates an MPO file which can be edited in SPM. It's not totally distortion-free, but not bad, and it takes all the work out of making a 3D pano.
View it full-size, then scroll across the scene.
