It seems to me that the yellow/greenish tint is an inherent part of using the Dubois process.  I often choose it over half-color because the overall colors look richer, but I realize it adds a heavy yellowish cast to the picture.  I compensate for this by reducing the excessive yellow by using the selective color adjustment in Photoshop.  I still get comments referring to a greenish tint in my anaglyphs.  
 
Yes, grayscale would eliminate it completely, but it's always a toss-up as to which route to go.  Anaglyphs only look natural when the original colors are within a certain range...what we call anaglyph-friendly colors.  When the original has colors that are not anaglyph-friendly, the resulting methods of compensation are often a poor compromise.

I wonder if a grayscale version would work equally as well, or perhaps reducing/changing the yellow/greenish tint for the anaglyph version.

It's risky shooting directly into the sun, but it worked this time.  This is a fountain in Waterfront Park in downtown Louisville, KY.  The backlighting really made the water glow.
