Abbott's Pond series continuation - Bird sanctuary 3.

 

It's probably not necessary to mention (for most), that the somewhat odd looking upside down cone shape apparatus helps prevent critters that could be dangerous to the bird habitat from getting to the nest.  I once made something similar from a portable aluminum light reflector to prevent squirrels from stealing seed from a birdfeeder mounted atop a pole in my yard.
