All in Brazil on November 20 marks the "National Day of Black Consciousness," a day of struggle against racism and prejudice. It is also a celebration in honor of Zumbi dos Palmares, the largest black leader in Brazilian history. Zumbi dos Palmares was a leader of the Quilombo dos Palmares in Alagoas State who fought against slavery and was killed on November 20, 1695. Even today it is hailed as Zombie hero black Brazilian, who raised his struggle with the ideals of freedom and power of black people in Brazil. In Brasilia various cultural groups came forward the day honoring the black leader.
