Frederick Douglass Memorial - "Closer View"
(Easton Waterfowl Festival)
Info on Frederick Douglass:
Douglass was born and slaved in
Talbot County, just twelve miles from Easton. In honor
of his memory, a monument was placed on the front lawn of the
Talbot County Courthouse in Easton. A nation-wide
competition was held to select the design for the memorial. This
monument is the first to be erected in the region where Frederick was born
into a life of slavery and where he eventually returned as a hero.
