On 14 March 1888, in presence of the Italian Royal family members , the first foudation stone for the construction of this ministry was laid down.The Architect was Calderini.The works went for long and the inauguration took place on 9 November 1910.During 1970s because of sliding of the whole building in to the river direction.. it was completly evacuated and its salvation and restauration works lasted till 1990s!
The Romans call it Palazzaccio,(pron.Palatzatchoh..nasty Palace)!
