Bill,

When you start talking about the best software or easiest to use, most effective, etc....  You must consider all the variables such as affordability, operating platform (Windows, Mac, etc.), skill, experience, training, and so on.  Each individual will be affected by all these factors and more.  I don't think you can come to a practical conclusion of what you have asked.  Dialog is good but we have always done that with or without a competitive goal.  I prefer to keep it fun without a competition of what is the best, most effective, or easiest to use.

Subject: [Anaglyphs] Avatar Challenge expanded: Which is the easiest and most effective 2D to 3D technique to use?

Hi all members of our yahoo anaglyph group and especially to Brian and Gug,

I think the this Avatar challenge could help resolve a question many of us have, namely, which is the easiest to use and most effective software for doing 2D to 3D conversions. Using Photoshop and cloning, or StereoPhotoMaker and cloning, or using 3D Gugle,...that is the issue. I've seen wonderful results from all in the past, but never have we had a challenge that enables us to have a controlled excercise, where the same starting 2D image is used to input into our different programs.

Feedback from everybody could lead to some interesting dialog.
