no, there is not a matter of taste, it's a objective fact that his arm is flat and he is too close to the window and too close to that building behind him.
Stragely I did try to grab two frames from the same scene but his arm stayed flat even there!
I don't use the depth map to convert 2D images so I don't understand the number you mentioned.
I send you an aprox. uncomplete example of what I try to tell you. I left the building untouched.

"...I know that this is 2 frame grabbing stereo" ? I'm afraid it is not. I took it from a newsreel film as a still picture. So in this respect the starting point was a 2D image.

"...because his arm remains flat" ? The depth map of the arm ranges from luminosity 232 (next to viewer) to 162 (shoulder). What should be wrong with that?

"...you should push him back to the image" ? A matter of taste.
